Carmel Valley Wine Festival | Arts & Culture
The Carmel Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold the 9th Annual Art & Wine Celebration on June 8, 2013 from 11 am to 5 pm in Carmel Valley, California. The event will highlight artists showcasing original artwork, 15 + wineries, galleries, restaurants and unique shops spanned along the quaint and walk-able Carmel Valley Village. Kiki Wow Presents and Martino Entertainment will pack the entertainment areas on Del Fino Place and Center Street with musical acts while art galleries will engage attendees with creative activities.
On Del Fino Place in Carmel Valley Village, Kiki Wow Presents will kick-off this event with Songs Hotbox Harry Taught Us http://www.facebook.com/songshotboxharrytaughtus
with covers from Elvis, Bob Dylan, Buck Owens and originals as well. Coming on at 12:30 will be the Steve Abrams Jazz Bop Trio www.steveabrams.com featuring pianist/flautist/arranger Steve Abrams, bassist Heath Proskin and drummer Olaf Schiappacasse. An internationally known, Jackie Bristow www.jackiebristow.com, who just toured with Bonnie Raitt and has won awards from Australia and New Zealand will follow the trio. Closing down Del Fino Place will be the local band, the Vibe Tribe with seasoned musicians who know what it takes to belt out some dancing music!
The live music does not end there; Martino Entertainment will feature Mark Banks and John Michael on Center Street who both bring amazing musical talents to this event. Mark Banks creates a one-man band sound without hesitation while singing great songs from the past and present. John Michael brings to life the memory of Frank Sinatra with his inspirational and captivating voice. DJ Christo will be on hand as well to keep Center Street on their toes while sipping wine and purchasing food from the variety of Food Trucks that will surround the Martino Entertainment area!
The fun does not stop there! Carmel Valley Village art galleries are taking part in the festivities as well. Masaoka Glass Design will feature Todd Moore and Diane Stendahl
demonstrating their glass blowing skills. Lyons Head Gallery will showcase two of their featured Artists on their patio painting new pieces. At 15 West Carmel Valley Road, Patricia Qualls Contemporary Art Studio will invite all to participate in a free form “Painting Outside the Lines” canvas painting from 1 pm to 4 pm. The events featured artist Joelee will be creating an artistic piece, and will be selling reproductions of the Art & Wine Celebration painting.
Admission to the event is free and complimentary service to Carmel Valley Village will be provided by the MST Grapevine Express. Advance wine tasting discount tickets will go on sale at www.carmelvalleychamber.com for $25. Military, Senior and Groups of 10 or more will receive an even greater discount. Tickets will also be sold the day of the event for $30. Purchase includes a wine glass and a re-usable bag from Carmel Realty (for the first 500 attendees). Some participating wineries include Chateau Julien Wine Estate, Holman Ranch Vineyards, Boete, Joullian, Chesebro, Cima Collina, Joullian, Dawn’s Dream Tasting Room, Galante Vineyard, Mercy Vineyards, Scheid Vineyards, Bernardus Winery and many more! The open air event features the works of artists including photographers, jewelry designers, wood crafters, painters, and more.
